Letter to the Editor: Thanks for Running a Smooth Event

Now that Door County’s high season is ending I finally have time to reflect and give thanks for an event that marks the start of the busy season.

I wanted to thank and congratulate the Peninsula Pacers for their work on the Door County Half Marathon event that occurred this past May.

I am a busy mom of three. My husband ran in the race this year. I was surprised by how effortless race day was for my family. I sometimes avoid events knowing my time will be spent chasing my littles around. The directions for the weekend were clearly communicated and it made my job as a supportive wife simple.

On race day my tribe and I boarded a shuttle bus at Gibraltar and were taken right to the heart of the event. We managed to watch Daddy cross the finish line right as we pulled in. Everything leading up to that moment and all of the vendors and stands that followed created a wonderful day and memory for our family.

Thank you for making the day one that we wish to repeat next May!
