Letter to the Editor: Thanks for Successful Kettle Campaign

Nancy Kexel-Calabresa sends a big thank-you to the many folks who rang the bell for The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign in Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor this season. Nearly 200 ringers donated more than 700 hours of volunteer time to raise funds for the essential emergency services the Army provides right here in Door County! I send thanks also to heads of teams from schools, churches and other groups, including Altrusa, American Legion, Masons and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Thanks to Tom, Mary and Rae, the equipment was set up and taken down and the kettle money collected and deposited. Deepest thanks to the managers of Econo Foods, Walgreens, Walmart, Pick ‘N Save and Main Street Market for permitting ringers at their stores. This campaign is truly a community effort!

Special thanks go to all the donors out there that filled the kettles and wrote their checks!
Looking ahead, I hope to hear from more of you who would like to ring – individually or as part of a group – in 2016. Please call me at 920.883.7886 or send an email to [email protected]. Although bell ringing has drawn to a close for this season, the need for the services provided by The Salvation Army is greater than ever. Please consider a generous donation to this year’s Door County Kettle Campaign, made out to The Salvation Army and sent to Tom Mulinix, 509 W. Walnut Drive, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the 2015 kettle campaign!
