Letter to the Editor: The President is the Emperor with No Clothes

Why does the President of the United States act in such a bellicose manner when he is with world leaders. One good explanation is that “the emperor has no clothes.” He is naked intellectually, morally and socially, and he knows it. He covers his nakedness with bluster and anger hoping that his behavior will be interpreted as tough leadership rather than a cover for his “imposter” belief about himself.

Consider how awkward it is for the President when he walks into a room of world leaders and none seek him out for conversation. The only way he can be part of the group is to place himself outside of the group and find fault with others. He is particularly vicious with women leaders because he believes women are less likely to threaten him. He is pleasant only with dictators who are not impressed with his bluster and who would return his bluster in kind.

If this is the case it is a sad time for the country and for the “emperor.”
