Letter to the Editor: Will You Be Mine?

It’s the time of year when we think about spring, new life, affection and love. We share our feelings with people who are very special to us, and we make a gesture and maybe even a commitment to them. We give them gifts; we do extra things to try to make them happy and show that we care for them.

However, you don’t have to be too connected to things today to know that life is not peaches and cream. As you look around, you hear about the killing of multitudes of innocent people – both old and very young – the addiction to drugs and opioids, bullying, sex trafficking, lying, abuse, greed, etc., etc.

All of this can seem overwhelming. The key is knowing who the enemy is and what he is trying to do to us. He is out to steal, kill and destroy. And even in the middle of all of this chaos, know that our creator is in control; He loves us no matter what we may have done; and He is waiting for us with arms wide open, asking us one simple question: Will you be mine? I love you!
