Letter to the Editor: Work Together to Lessen Gun Violence

I am grateful that Gov. Evers had the courage this year to veto several Republican-backed bills relating to gun laws. These included allowing concealed-carry licensees to take guns to places of worship on private school grounds, to drive into schoolyards with loaded weapons in their cars, and to recognize concealed-carry permits held by non-Wisconsin residents, thus negating any requirements the state of Wisconsin might have made on the gun owner.

Guns are everywhere in our society; signing these bills into law would have made them even more so. It is my wish that politicians on both sides of the aisle could work together to lessen the prevalence of guns and the toll of their violence in today’s world.
