Liberty Grove Historical Society Continues to Work on Military Circle of Honor and Heritage Walkway

The Liberty Grove Historical Society is installing its historic project, the first Door County monument honoring individual military veterans and active duty personnel, according to the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. Year-round and seasonal residents, as well as all members and donors to the Liberty Grove Historical Society, may honor their family members and friends who have served in the armed services by purchasing engraved pavers for the Military Circle of Honor. The monument is open to any and all who have served or are presently serving, from Door County and across the country. There will also be a Donors’ Heritage Walkway that will allow those who wish to support this project and the mission of the Liberty Grove Historical Society by purchasing bricks inscribed with their names, family names or business names. Proceeds from the sale of the pavers will be used to install and maintain the Honor Circle and Heritage Walkway, and for the continuity of the historical society, which maintains it. Each paver will be permanently engraved. The installation of the Honor Circle and Heritage Walkway will resume this spring, with the dedication scheduled for July 8. Orders must be placed by May 1 to be included in the installation in time for the dedication ceremony. For information call Faith Murray, secretary, LGHS, at 920.421.1477.
