Liberty Grove Takes No Action on Beach Stone Removal

The Town of Liberty Grove chose not to take action on a request that it adopt an ordinance prohibiting the removal of stones from beaches at its July 19 meeting.

Supervisor Nancy Goss said she didn’t think there was a problem with people taking stones “as long as they’re not backing up trailers and loading them up.”

The board debated several deterrence options but ultimately determined it could not enforce such an ordinance.
