The Friends of Door County Libraries resumes its summer schedule of used book sales on June 4. Timed to coincide with the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Markets, held right across the street, the library sales will take place on Saturdays through July 2, from 9 am to 1 pm, at the Sturgeon Bay Library, 107 S. 4th Avenue.
The library’s Mel Madel Friends’ Book Room, which is normally closed to the public on Saturdays, will be open to allow customers to browse among thousands of selections, including fiction, non-fiction and children’s titles. Stop by to find a copy of the latest bestseller, some storybooks to keep the grandkids settled, or a cookbook with ideas on how to prepare that basket of bounty you purchased at the farmers market.
Proceeds from the book sales provide some $20,000 in annual funding for programs and activities at all the Door County libraries.
