Dorothy Geier

Dec. 29, 1912 – Aug. 12, 2014

Dorothy Geier, 101, of Algoma, died on Aug. 12, 2014, at the Algoma Long Term Care. Dorothy lived most of her life on the family farm and enjoyed flower gardening, baking, and sewing. She also loved music, playing the piano and watching movies. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Pauline Geier, Forestville; and one niece, Mary (Lyle) Heiges, Sturgeon Bay. Funeral services were held Aug. 14 at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood.

Nick Freiburger

Aug. 31, 1973 – Aug. 7, 2014

Nick Freiburger, 40, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Aug. 7, 2014. He was born on Aug. 31, 1973, in Milwaukee to Michael and Susan (Rosecky) Freiburger. Nick enjoyed spending time with his dogs, and going to JAK’s Place to visit with friends. He also enjoyed spending time on the computer and listening to music. A memorial service was held at Forbes Funeral Home on Aug. 13. Memorials may be directed to JAK’s Place.

James Arnold Erickson

Nov. 13, 1922 – Aug. 7, 2014

James Arnold Erickson, 91, died Aug. 7, 2014. Born in North Bay, Wis., son of Herbert and Edith (Anderson) Erickson. He attended the North Bay School and served in the U.S. Army in Europe for three-and-a-half years. Artist and writer, having written the book, North Bay, Door County, Wisconsin. As an artist, had solo showing of his art. Taught art to children as well as adults. Cremation services were provided by Huehns Funeral Home, Sturgeon Bay.
