Aults Celebrate 70 Years Together on Feb. 6, 2014

The family of Dorothy and Wayne Ault proudly announce the Aults’ Platinum Wedding Anniversary: 70 years together as husband and wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Ault first met in Washington, DC, in 1943, where Mr. Ault was a Naval Officer stationed at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Anacostia; and Mrs. Ault was staff assistant to U.S. Congressman Jed Johnson. She also was active at Calvary Baptist Church as a youth worker and activities leader of the Church Door Canteen. Mr. and Mrs. Ault were married in Mrs. Ault’s hometown of Chickasha, Oklahoma, on Feb. 6, 1944.

The couple began their married life in Youngstown, Ohio, where Mr. Ault joined the Automatic Sprinkler Corporation of America as a fire protection engineer, and Dorothy taught middle school music. Mr. and Mrs. Ault are longtime Scandia Village residents, having moved to Sister Bay from northwest Indiana in 2005. The Aults are members of the Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church. The Aults have three daughters: Judith Jackson of Sister Bay, Jayne Rusincovitch of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Anita Knight of Waco, Texas. They are joined by their families in a chorus of loving wishes to their parents for many more anniversaries to come.

When asked what made for such long lives together, Mr. Ault was quoted as saying, “We give a little here, and take a little there.” It’s all about harmony.
