Paternal grandparents are Julie & Sheldon Herbst, Sturgeon Bay, and the late Nancy Herbst, Sturgeon Bay.

Scott & Stephanie Soucek, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents of a boy born on Feb. 15, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center.

Maternal grandparents are Art & Lori Weborg, Fish Creek, and Laura & Larry Christensen, Kenosha. Paternal grandparents are James Soucek, Algoma, and Jacqueline Soucek, Sturgeon Bay.

Lizbeth Ramirez & Homero Hernandez, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents of a daughter born on Feb. 14, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center. Maternal grandparents are Gloria & Germon Ramirez, Sturgeon Bay. Paternal grandparents are Sara Perez, Green Bay, and Clemente Hernandez, Green Bay.

Chad & Shawna Lyle, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents of a boy born on Feb. 14, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center.

Nicholas & Carla Ziniel, Sturgeon Bay, are the parents of a girl born on Feb. 12, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center.

Maternal grandparents are Jolene Payment, Newberry, Mich., and Randy VanderMeulen, Green Bay. Paternal grandparents are Kristin & Michael Ziniel, Sturgeon Bay.

PASSINGS

Earl Staats Sr.

June 2, 1926 – Feb. 18, 2014

Earl William Staats Sr., 87, of Sturgeon Bay, died at home on Feb. 18, 2014, with family by his side. Earl served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was 1 of 2 men chosen by General Patton to be his personal driver. When Patton died in an automobile accident, Earl was asked to lead the funeral procession in Europe.

Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 – 8 pm at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Allan LaViolette

Dec. 2, 1934 – Feb. 17, 2014

Allan C. LaViolette, 79, of Brussels, died on Feb. 17, 2014, in Green Bay at Park View Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, Feb. 21, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Burial will be in White Star Cemetery.

Paul Marvin Robertoy

May 21, 1957 – Feb. 15, 2014

Paul Marvin Robertoy, 56, of Egg Harbor and Wabeno, died Feb. 15, 2014, at Ministry Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay. A funeral service honoring and celebrating Paul’s life was held Feb. 20, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Juddville.
