Skye and Peter Ciesla, owners and artists of Bazyli Studio, have been showing their unique, colorful, and provocative beaded jewelry at Linden Gallery since 2006. This year, the Linden Gallery is hosting a preview event for the Cieslas’ upcoming show at Marion Gallery, Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee from September 19 – October 22. The public is invited to preview the collection Friday and Saturday, August 20 – 21 from 10 am – 5 pm at Linden Gallery.
The couple are working independently on two new series for the show entitled “Inspired Design: Playful and Provocative Adornment.” Peter is creating a series of new sculptural pieces that are painted and constructed from fiber. Skye is creating a series of neckwear inspired by cards with geometric designs, which were in turn inspired by crop circle designs around the globe.
The Cieslas’ artistic process continues to evolve while staying true to their beaded work. “As jewelry designers, with links to both the fashion world and the art world,” said Peter, “we have developed a signature style with our hand-embroidered and woven pieces.”
The couple shows their work in fashion shows, galleries, and clothing boutiques throughout the United States. A story featuring the artists will be in an upcoming edition of Ornament Magazine.
The Linden Gallery, open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, is located at Highway 42 and Mink River Road in Ellison Bay. For more information call 920.854.2487 or visit http://www.lindensgallery.com.
