Linden Gallery Presents “A Photojourney in Yunnan”

A Photojourney in Yunnan, an exhibit currently showing at Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay, features the work of 24 photographers from across the country. All attended workshops under the direction of noted international photographer Douglas Beasley at the Linden Centre in southwestern China.

Yunnan Province is known as South of the Clouds, a region hidden in the foothills of the Himalayas. It’s a land of breathtaking vistas, timeless villages, and an exotic blend of different ethnic groups.

From the shy face of a child monk to an electrician precariously perched atop a telephone pole, the Photojourney collection offers a glimpse into life in rural China. From a placid, blue lake to a cluttered barbershop, memories were created both spiritually and through the viewfinder of a camera.

A reception is planned for Sept. 26, 4 – 6 pm. The exhibit runs through Oct. 19. Linden Gallery is located at 12001 Mink River Road in Ellison Bay. The gallery is open daily 10 am – 5 pm through Oct. 25. For more information, call 920.854.2487 or visit lindensgallery.com.
