Linden Gallery Welcomes Barbara Nuckles

One of the sunniest sections of Linden Gallery is the area where amber jewelry is displayed. For 13 years, the gallery has featured the collection of Barbara Nuckles. On July 28 from 10 am – 5 pm, Nuckles will present the best of the amber jewelry she has discovered in over 40 trips to the Baltic countries.

She often says, “I don’t buy the amber in the markets. I go to the most respected dealers and tell them I want to see the good stuff in the back rooms!”

Butterscotch, cherry, honey and lemon sound like ice cream flavors, but in the world of semi-precious stones, these words describe colors of amber. The collection features contemporary pieces in sterling silver, as well as more traditional designs.

Nuckles can tell the stories behind each piece. “The artist that created this piece was an engineer who also loved to work with amber,” she explains, or, “This ring was designed during the Hitler era. Amazing that such a beautiful piece came out of such a dark time.”

Linden Gallery is located at 12001 Mink River Road in Ellison Bay, and is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. For more information call 920.854.2487.
