Lindenberg Focuses on Jazz at Birch Creek

This summer, Solomon Lindenberg, a talented senior at Gibraltar High School, spent two weeks studying at Birch Creek Music Performance Center among 50 other musicians from around the country who were attending the Jazz II Session.

During the session, students hone their technical skills and learn firsthand about life as a professional musician. Lindenberg – a pianist – performed 10 concerts alongside his peers for paying concertgoers.

Jeff Campbell is the program director of the Jazz I and II Sessions. He’s a professor and chair of jazz studies and contemporary media at the Eastman School of Music and a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s bass section, and he has produced numerous CDs. This season marks Campbell’s 31st year at Birch Creek and his 23rd as the Jazz Sessions’ program director.
