Lindens Are Back in Door County, Holding Discussion at Sister Bay Library

Door County residents Brian and Jeanee Linden have been off-and-on residents in China since 1984. Their passion for Asia’s culture inspired them to open the Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay in 1996 and venture into China’s Himalayas to start a chain of boutique hotels and cultural centers in 2005. Their China projects have garnered international accolades such as the Secretary of State Kerry’s Citation for Corporate Excellence, China Hotel of the Year by TripAdvisor, and Travel and Leisure’s Global Vision Award.

The Lindens will discuss the challenges of becoming the only foreigners to restore and manage one of China’s national relics. The success of their first hotel has inspired the Chinese government to fund their expansion into other historic compounds, including three new sites along China’s border with Myanmar. The title of the talk: “An American Living a Chinese Dream: The Evolution of The Linden Centre and China’s Soft Power Dilemma” takes place at the Sister Bay Library on July 11 at 6 pm. An open discussion will take place after the talk and the public is invited to attend. For more information call 920.854.2487 or visit linden-centre.com for project details.
