Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 pm, join teachers, students and families at Southern Door Elementary School to read autumn picture books, make crafts and browse a book fair.
“The opportunity is truly meant for families to come and enjoy spending time together,” said Missy Bousley, Southern Door School District’s reading specialist.
Families will get to attend two different sessions and listen to two of the following books: The Seasons of Arnold’s Apple Tree by Gail Gibbons, Bats in the Library by Brian Lies, Good-Night, Owl! by Pat Hutchins, Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman, a collection of turkey stories or a collection of books by Lois Ehlert. Another session on using instructional technology like laptops and tablets as reading tools will be offered at the same time.
The first session will end at 5:45, when families can then browse the book fair, sign up for door prizes and eat some refreshments before heading to their next session. A $4 plate meal will be offered. Proceeds from the book fair and meal will benefit the school library.
