Judy DuCharme announces her new book, Society of the L.A.M.B., has been published. In the book, the protagonist Josiah has just awakened from what feels like a deep sleep, where he lived in a raucous colony of those who celebrate dark freedoms but are really trapped in a deception of the worst kind.

For an oasis of calm in the bustle of a Door County summer, consider the Peninsula Poets gathering that meets at 1:30 pm the third Tuesday of each month in the community room of the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library.

Amos, the therapy dog, will “read” with the kids at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library every Thursday at 10:30 am, now through Aug. 28. Readers of all levels welcome.

Author Rachel Wisdom of St. Louis will visit Door County June 26 – 29 for a book tour promoting her debut novel, A Shopkeeper’s Daughter. A historical romance, the novel is based on the love story of the current King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway.

Nancy Sweetland, Green Bay author, will sign books at Book World, 30 N 3rd Avenue, Sturgeon Bay, on June 21, 11 am – 1 pm. Writing ever since getting her first rejection from Woman’s Day at age 13, Sweetland has been published in photojournalism, articles, juvenile poetry and stories, picture and chapter books.

Write On, Door County announces the inception of a Creative Prose Writers Group. Designed to offer both support and constructive critique for writers focused on prose, the group will be limited to six members.

The Door County Library Summer Reading Program is now underway. From June 1 to August 15, toddlers through 8th graders can keep track of their own reading, their reading to others or when they are read to, and use those hours to collect reading incentives at their local Door County library.

New Door County Mystery Series
Author Patricia Skalka appears in two special events in Door County for her recently published mystery novel, Death Stalks Door County. The events are co-sponsored by The Friends of Door County Libraries, the Peninsula Bookman, and Write On, Door County.
