Little Lake Restoration Project Complete

The Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay, the City of Sturgeon Bay and the Door County Community Foundation announce the completion of the Little Lake Restoration Project, a decade-long service project to see the revitalization of the body of water.

Originally known as Crystal Lake, many locals know it as the Duck Pond. In 1852 waste from nearby sawmills was dumped into the lake, making it much smaller. With the addition of an engineered wetland, stormwater can now be filtered before entering Little Lake, and the results are astonishing. The former glory of Crystal Lake has been restored.
