Live Healthier, Eat Organic Food

The Door County Environmental Council is hosting a presentation by Mark Kastel of the Cornucopia Institute on why eating organic food is vital to health. He will lead a free discussion on the merits of eating organically at Crossroads at Big Creek, located at 2041 Michigan St. Sturgeon Bay, on June 24 at 7 pm.

Kastel will present research that shows that toxic agrichemicals contaminating our food are affecting our health. Possibly more importantly, he will show that the shift to industrial agriculture techniques during the last 65 years has resulted in food that is measurably lower in essential nutrients.

Kastel will explain what the future dangers are of not growing food organically. He will tell us that while it might cost more to choose local and certified organic food, in the long run there is a big payback in terms of superior health.
