Liz Maltman Presents for Miller Art Museum

“Surprise” with pastel by Liz Matlman

Liz Maltman, Door County plein air artist and silent sports enthusiast, will be the featured presenter for the first of the 2015 Volunteer Programs at the Miller Art Museum. Maltman will discuss and demonstrate her technique at the museum on Feb. 12 beginning at 10:30 am in the Sturgeon Bay Library. Doors open at 10 am for coffee, conversation and exhibit viewing. The public is invited to attend; all programs are free although donations are always appreciated.

Maltman’s pastel work, “Surprise,” is among 44 works currently featured in “Celebrating 40 with Festive Art About Food,” on display at the Miller through March 3.

In 2004, Maltman discovered landscape painting “en plein air,” her first foray into fine art. She has always been a silent sports enthusiast and finds plein air painting perfectly complimentary to this type of lifestyle and paints outside whenever possible, working in both pastel and acrylic.
