Local Artists in Cedarburg Art Museum’s “Iconic Wisconsin”

Several Door County artists are included in the Cedarburg Art Museum’s statewide juried exhibition, Iconic Wisconsin. Photographic works by Jim Rossol and Steven Stanger, Baileys Harbor, and W. Joseph Christianson, Sturgeon Bay, are on display. From 156 submitted entries, 73 pieces for Iconic Wisconsin were chosen by a scoring of three jurors. Each of the exhibiting artists interprets this year’s theme of “iconic Wisconsin” in a different way. A diverse array of subjects, media, and styles makes up this celebration of our state. From sculpture to photography to painting and drawing, 56 artists from all over Wisconsin and several of its neighboring states display their unique expressions of what defines Wisconsin.

Most works in the exhibit are for sale, making this a great opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind artwork for the home or as gifts while supporting Wisconsin artists and the museum.

The exhibit is on display through Jan. 21, 2018 at the Cedarburg Art Museum’s historic home at W63 N675 Washington Avenue. Museum hours are 10 am – 4 pm Wednesday through Saturday and 12 – 4 pm Sunday. For more information visit cedarburgartmuseum.org.
