Local Author Releases “Growing Up Harley”

Harley, the Door County camel raised by Lisa Jeansonne, now has his own book. Jeansonne trained Harley to march in parades and interact with people. As a result, Harley became famous in Door County, helping raise money for an animal shelter and other worthy causes. His story is told by Kay Bidwell Loberg in Growing Up Harley: A Door County Story.

The children’s book is illustrated by Mark Engeldinger, a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay with a major in studio arts and minor in design arts.

Growing Up Harley is available locally through Pet Expressions, Dancing Bear, Book World, and the Advocates for Independent Living office. For more information visit mascotbooks.com.
