Local Children Try on “New Clothes”

A favorite tale from Hans Christian Anderson comes to the Third Avenue Playhouse in a new musical adaptation of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Performances will be held Friday, October 3 at 7 pm and Saturday, October 4 at 2 pm.

Throughout the past week, local children have worked in intensive rehearsals conducted by Rob and Lorrie Gray of Children’s Stage Adventures. Set in the frontier town of Royal City, this musical version puts a Western twist on the popular tale by Hans Christian Anderson.

Featuring original music, the play tells the tale of the Emperor of Snobsylvania, on a world tour to collect clothes. Stopping at the railroad town of Royal City, the Emperor is enchanted by the wardrobe of the American Cowboy, but swindled into buying non-existent clothes.

Ticket prices for The Emperor’s New Clothes are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and students, and $3 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased by phone, 920.743.1760, online at http://www.thirdavenueplayhouse.com, or at the box-office located at 239 N Third Ave, Sturgeon Bay.
