Local Film Director Takes Home Award

Kurt Krauss, director of Confession of A Sailor, took home the award for Strong Filmmaking Talent of the Year at the Best of the Year MLC Awards at The Tarlton Theatre in Green Bay.

The film tells a modern day story of shipwreck feature-writer, Michael Connolly, who visits Door County in pursuit of his career-making series. In meeting the retired mariner, Old Tobe, their focus shifts to the 1958 wreck of the Carl D. Bradley on Lake Michigan.

Confessions of a Sailor was filmed primarily in Door County and first premiered in February 2023 at the Door County Film Festival.
