Local Food Business Seminar Series to Begin

The Local Food Business Seminar Series, offered by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), will feature seven different topics from October to March. Each topic will be presented at four locations around the state. The Madison workshops will also be available free via webinar. The seven classes will cost between $10 and $15 each. Registration is open now. Those who register for all seven classes at once can do so for the reduced cost of $55. Something Special from Wisconsin members get a $5 discount per class.

The first seminar is about business planning, held Oct. 20 – 23. Remaining topics include legal/business structures, food safety, marketing, knowing the buyer, selling through a distributor and finding the dollars.
