Door County Humane Society Joins with State Organization

Last month, it was announced that the Bay Area Humane Society and Door County Humane Society would become part of the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS), and that transaction is complete as of Jan. 1.

As part of the acquisition, the names of both organizations are changing. After seeking input from staff and other stakeholders, WHS is shifting the names used at the Green Bay and Door County locations to “Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus” and “Wisconsin Humane Society Door County Campus” to be consistent with their shelters in Ozaukee, Milwaukee, and Racine counties. It will take weeks to update marketing collateral, the websites, signage and forms, as WHS plans to only reorder merchandise and marketing materials once needed, in an effort to save on expenses.
