Local Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition is Jan. 14, 2017

All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2017 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held Jan. 14 with registration and practice at 10 am and the start of the competition at 11 am in the St. John Bosco/Corpus Christi gym in Sturgeon Bay. There is no entry fee, and awards will be given for first, second and third place. Embroidered patches are provided for all participants.

The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually by Msgnr. Broens Council #2478 of Sturgeon Bay with winners progressing through local, district and state competition. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters based on scores from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls 9 to 14 years old as of Jan. 1, 2017 are eligible to participate and compete in the respective age divisions. Last year more than 120,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,600 local competitions.
