Local Movie Needs Local Help

Rebecca Livengood and Chris Irwin will begin shooting a feature film in Door County the weekend of May 16th and will continue filming sporadically throughout the summer.

A mix of drama and light comedy, the movie is called June Falling Down and centers around a young woman who has returned home to Wisconsin for her best friend’s wedding and the one-year anniversary of her father’s death. Livengood wrote and will direct the film, and Irwin is producing and assistant directing.

The cast includes many local performers such as Nick Hoover, Claire Morkin, Steven Koehler, Justin Pahnturat, Elliot Goettelman, Evan Board, Joanna Becker, Kay Allmand, and Ryan Schabach. Local musicians (TBA) will also be included in the soundtrack and various scenes.

The production is currently raising money through the crowd funding website Indiegogo ( with prizes available at different levels of donation. For the $100 level, the donor receives two tickets to the premiere of the movie in Door County in the summer of 2015, which includes a showing of the film as well as live music by Chris Irwin and friends.

The fundraiser is running now through May 24. For more information visit and search for “June Falling Down” or visit

There will also be an opportunity for the community to participate as extras in a wedding reception scene on May 27 – as well as other scenes throughout the summer. Anyone who is interested in helping out as an extra or behind the scenes, contact [email protected].
