Sister Bay residents, Lucas and Heather Frykman, became nationally published photographers for the first time with their article, “Common Loons,” in the Maine-based quarterly magazine Nature Photographer. The article features photographs of loons and a written account of the couple’s 2007 canoe camping expeditions in the Upper Michigan wilderness.
Although the couple makes several camping trips each year, the Frykmans’ are known for their photographs of Door County landscapes, wildlife, and wildflowers.
Their work is on display at the Frykman Studio Gallery on Highway 42 in Sister Bay. The article and photographs are in the summer issue of Nature Photographer, which may be found at Book World in Sister Bay and at the Frykman Studio Gallery.
