Local Teacher and Student Receive Herb Kohl Foundation Awards

A Door County student and teacher were recently selected as 2013 Herb Kohl Foundation award recipients.

Clifford Wind, math teacher at Sturgeon Bay High School, received an Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship. Fellows were chosen for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students and their ability to motivate others.

Afton Greenwood, a student at Gibraltar High School, received the Foundation’s Initiative Scholarship. Recipients demonstrated exceptional initiative in the classroom and have shown strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond.

A regional recognition luncheon will be held April 13 at Red Smith Elementary, located at 2765 Sussex Street in Green Bay. The reception is scheduled for 12 pm, with the luncheon to follow.
