Lockwood, Rericha and Maltman featured at Woodwalk Gallery Reception

Painting by Liz Maltman.

Woodwalk Gallery will celebrate its 17th season with a reception on Sunday, May 30 from 4:30 – 7 pm. The reception is open to the public and will offer beverages, food, music and gallery talks by the first exhibit featured artists: Margaret Lockwood, Jim Rericha and Liz Maltman.

Lockwood’s new works for 2010 expand on her interest in Door County landscapes and horizons in larger, ethereal oil-on-canvas works of trees, clouds and water. In addition, she has created a series of smaller “Glimpses” of northern peninsula towns, villages and harbors, featured on note cards, tiles and posters.

Rericha, a former Sevastopol art teacher, always surprises viewers with unlikely combinations – whether in dolls, assemblages, or two-dimensional creations. His new works are collectively titled “Hello Dolly.”

For the opening exhibit Maltman has painted a series of related paintings that may end up as illustrations for a children’s book. Each painting includes a cake somewhere in its fanciful “Cake Walk” setting.

In addition to the 36 artists exhibiting in painting, jewelry, wood-turning, assemblage, print making, and sculpture, Woodwalk Gallery is pleased to welcome eight new artists for 2010. These artists include: Gail Nelson, enamel; Liz Heller, painting; Richard Edelman, sculpture; Joe Singewald, ceramics; Kris Kolinski, ceramics; Pat Wheeler, painting; Dillon Lauger, concrete; and Tom Jenz, photography.

Woodwalk Gallery and Events Center will also welcome back Jeanne Kuhns Friday Night Concert Series, beginning June 18.

Open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, Woodwalk Gallery is located at 6746 County Road G, five miles south of Egg Harbor (1/2 mile NW of Highway 42 at Shartner’s Farm Market). For more information, call 920.868.2912, email [email protected] or visit http://www.woodwalkgallery.com.
