Looking for a Jingle

The 2014 Door County Fair Jingle Contest will take place April 5 from 9:30 am –12 pm at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Egg Harbor. Reservations and prior signup is not required.

This year’s judges are Door County Visitor Bureau Executive Assistant Christine Salmon, former Operations Manager of the Birch Creek Music Performance Center Chris Miller, and Peninsula Music Festival Executive Director Sharon Grutzmacher. The jingles will be rated on creativity, clarity, musical talent and marketability. The contest is open to all Door County area students. Contestants under ten years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Jingles may be presented solo or in groups of up to five individuals. Each participant may enter up to three jingles, each under twenty seconds in length. Students may use musical accompaniment or sing a-cappella.

The winning jingle will be chosen within one week of the contest. Each winning jingle participant or group will receive a weeklong pass to the 2014 Door County Fair and $100 in cash.

“The event went over so well last year that we’ve decided to offer it to students again this year. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their writing and musical talents. The best part is that the winning jingle will be aired over all Door County radio stations,” said Brenda Davis, account executive for Boettcher Communications.
