Lost Mothra Perform “Sounds of the Season” at Sturgeon Bay’s TAP

Jeanne Kuhns and her band Lost Mothra will return to Third Avenue Playhouse to kick off Sturgeon Bay’s Christmas By the Bay festival with their “Sounds of the Season” performance on Nov. 20 at 7:30pm.

Band members Lynn Gudmundsen, Pat Palmer, and George Sawyn will join Kuhns for an evening of contemporary pop and Christmas favorites. Kuhns, known for her clear, heartfelt vocals, performs a range of styles, from bluegrass and country/pop to original folk/rock. Gudmundsen, the driving force behind the Door County Bluegrass Camp, is a professional violinist and fiddler extraordinaire. Palmer is known as Door County’s Harley driver of the electric and stand-up bass. Sawyn, well known for his beautifully precise acoustic guitar work, was a regular on the Chicago music scene for many years before he decided to make his home in Door County.

Last year, Sawyn and Kuhns collaborated on a Christmas CD, My Christmas Day. The album includes a collection of seven traditional carols arranged in a folk/Jazz style along with two original contemporary Christmas songs. Selections from the CD will be featured during the evening.

Tickets for “Sounds of the Season” are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $8 for children.
