Love on Holiday

Join a talented network of musicians related to the Holiday Music Motel for Love on Holiday, a two-day event celebrating the culmination of the weeklong songwriting/recording marathon. Musicians from across the region come together to share newly written songs about love and love gone awry. 7:30 pm.

Winter on Washington Island

Join the winter crowd on Washington Island for a celebration of the season with food, fun, adventure and entertainment! Sample chili entries at the annual chili cook off, enter a photo contest or take part in the Lions Club’s Fishing Derby. This weeklong event begins Saturday morning.

Feb Fest at PMF

Pianist Andrew Armstrong will open the Peninsula Music Festival’s annual February Fest on Feb. 11. Armstrong has delighted audiences across Asia, Europe, Latin America, Canada and the United States, including performances at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and Warsaw’s National Philharmonic. 2 pm.

Candlelight at Newport

Enjoy Newport State Park by the glow of candlelight during this annual candlelight ski, hike and snowshoe. Hot cocoa and cookies await in the picnic shelter after guests make it through the one-mile trail. 5:30-8 pm.

Door County’s finest poets and musicians collaborate to bring a comfy, coffeehouse atmosphere to the Door Community Auditorium on Saturday for this annual celebration of the spoken and sung word. 7 pm.
