“Love On Holiday” Includes Community Outreach in Event Lineup

February 10 – 16 marks the second annual “Love On Holiday” songwriting event at The Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay. Much like Steel Bridge Songfest, but on a smaller scale, writers from near and far will reside at the motel and spend the week collaboratively writing and recording new material themed for the Valentine’s Day holiday— “Songs of Love…And Love Gone Away.”

New to this year’s event is the addition of community service outreach. Leading the charge for this was Steel Bridge Songfest musician Ruby James who felt it was important for the musicians to bring the event to folks that would not otherwise be able to experience it. On Valentine’s Day, the writers will perform at The Golden Living Center and for The Boys and Girls Club’s “Art for Health” program where 100 children will paint while the musicians perform.

On Feb. 15, Love On Holiday artists will take the new songs (and the songs from last year) to the Red Room for a nighttime performance starting at 9 pm. This performance is free and open to the public.

On Feb. 16, a special TBA performance will be announced via the Holiday Music Motel’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/holiday.musicmotel).

Also, Love On Holiday artists will live stream videos of recording sessions. To check for the dates and times of the live broadcasts visit http://www.HolidayMusicMotel.com/LoveOnHoliday.
