Lulu Designs Featured in Fine Line Trunk Show

The work of Stacy King and her company, LuLu Designs, will be featured over Labor Day weekend in a jewelry trunk show at Fine Line Designs Gallery. The event will takes place September 3 – 5 from 10 am – 5 pm.

King’s business name, LuLu Designs, is derived from her childhood nickname, LuLu, short for Louise. Her background in ceramics led her to begin designing jewelry that represents the beauty of both the natural and human elements she sees around her. “From studying both ceramics and art history, I learned about color, symmetry, balance and the responsiveness of natural materials,” she said.

The combination of beads, gemstones, and precious metals in her collection of earrings and necklaces make all of her pieces small wearable works of art. “I often gain insight from architectural and textile design,” King said.

In addition to being found in boutiques across the county, LuLu Designs can also be found in the prestigious Sundance Catalog. King has also begun working with other designers in Thailand, India, and Afghanistan and said the result has been “jewelry that is infused with the history of these craftspeople and their jewelry-making traditions.”

Fine Line Designs Gallery, open daily 10 am – 6 pm and Sundays from 10 am – 5 pm, is located on Highway 42 in Ephraim. For more information call 920.854.4343 or visit http://www.finelinedesignsgallery.com.
