In September, Mr. Helsinki Restaurant and Wine Bar is featuring the lively, figurative artwork of Door County artist Jennifer Lee.

Lee’s work tends to feature the feminine image in various forms, and she says painting women comes naturally to her. “I am inspired by strong, courageous, funny women. I think it shows in the work.”

Her recent work depicts women of all shapes and sizes— some nude and some in cocktail dresses reminiscent of days gone by. Lee also likes to incorporate bold undiluted color and rich texture into her work.

“I like the idea of the maiden, mother, warrior and crone wrapped up in one beautiful woman…and hope that when others view the work they can recognize some of that in themselves.”

Mr. Helsinki is located at 4164 Highway 42 in Fish Creek.
