The county is waking up after its winter-long slumber. Join us in celebrating Memorial Day as well as getting outside and enjoying everything spring.

Friday, May 26

Egg Harbor Farmers Market

Farmers market season has begun! Head over to Egg Harbor to pick up locally grown produce, handcrafted items during the first market of the season. 8am-12pm.

Double Booked

Rogue Theater announces an original comedy set in the golden age of movies and television running two weekends only. Attend for family-friendly chaotic comedy. $10/adults, $5/students. 7:30pm.

Copper Box

Award-winning band Copper Box will play at The Garage at Husby’s in Sister Bay. Grab a beer and listen to “a melting pot of Americana, roots, rock, polka, country, jazz, blues and Zydeco.” No Cover. 7-10pm

Saturday, May 27

Activities in the Park

Join park workers in Peninsula State Park for activities throughout the day. Wildflower hiking 9am-10am. Making camp table toppers at the nature center 11am-1pm. Plus, Meet the Pileated Woodpecker 4pm-5:30pm.

The Harbor Market

Head on over to Egg Harbor to peruse the unique offerings of antique vendors in this one-day vintage market. 9am-4pm.

Velvet Gentleman

Get a taste of the French avant-garde composer Erik Satie in this one-man play, written by and starring James Valcq, at Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue Playhouse. $27/general admission, $10/student. 7:30pm.

Sunday, May 28

Maifest

Jacksonport’s Maifest has been running for 45 years. Though the Memorial Day parade is its biggest draw, the celebration continues with more food and sweets, as well as the 35th annual Maifest 10K Run & 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk, a juried art fair, and more great live music.. Begins at 9am.

Door County League Baseball

Watch the towns compete in this homegrown baseball league. Games across the county all start at 1:30pm.

Car and Motorcycle Show

If you’re into antique cars, you’ll have to stop by Sister Bay to check out the entries in this year’s Car & Motorcycle Show. Food and drink vendors, a live bluegrass band and a boardwalk sale will keep you entertained as you walk around the show. 10am-4pm.

Monday, May 29

Guided Nature Hikes

Stop in Baileys Harbor for a hike through the amazing Ridges Sanctuary led by one of their naturalists. You’ll be sure to get great information on just how much has changed in spring in this unique ecosystem. Hikes offered all day.

Ruby James Unplugged

Glidden Lodge in Sturgeon Bay will host the fiery guitarist/vocalist as she throws down some acoustic jams. Ruby has toured as the frontwoman in the pair WiFEE and the HUZz BAND as well as as a solo act performing music from her four solo albums. No cover. 7-10pm.
