Major Move

After 11 minor league seasons, Door County native Erik Cordier finally got the call to the majors to pitch for the San Francisco Giants on Sept. 1.

Cordier, a 2004 graduate of Southern Door High School, has been with the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants minor league organizations for 11 seasons. Cordier pitched out of relief for the Fresno Grizzlies this season, posting a 4-3 record and 3.59 ERA in 52.2 innings with 68 strike outs, 31 walks, and a 1.35 WHIP.
