Make Your Mark on Mosaic Project

The Hardy Gallery is launching a call for artists for the Community Mosaic Project; people from all creative backgrounds and all ages are encouraged to participate. The Community Mosaic Project was first launched in 2008 in partnership with the Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay as a way to bring together the community and create a visual tapestry of public art. This year marks the 11th anniversary of the mosaic project and free six-by-six canvases are now available for the public, which have been generously donated by the Artists Guild.

The Hardy is seeking submissions of original artwork from the community; individuals, artists, students and art enthusiasts are invited to submit work in any medium. Past submissions have included photography, three-dimensional and sculptural work, assemblages, fiber work, painting, writing, and collaborative works. All artwork should fit neatly on a six-by-six canvas with minimal installation difficulty accompanied with a completed artist statement form.

Free canvases are available now at The Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay (215 N. Third Ave.), Dahl Law Firm in Sister Bay (10589 S. Highland Road, Suite 4), and The Hardy Gallery starting May 26 (3083 Anderson Lane, Ephraim). Call 920.854.2210 or email [email protected] for more information about canvas pick-up.

Canvases are due back to The Hardy Gallery or the Artists Guild by July 1 finished or unfinished. The grand unveiling of the Community Mosaic Wall will be at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim, July 20 with a reception 5:30-7 pm. The Community Mosaic Project runs in conjunction with the Collection Invitational and Collectors Choice Benefit, on display from July 20 – August 26, 2018.
