Making Snow at Winter Park

The Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation staff has temporarily fired up the snow guns at Winter Park to begin the snow making process at the snowtubing, skiing, and snowboarding destination along the lakeshore.

“We’re not expecting to open until late December at the earliest, but we wanted to take advantage of the cold snap that we’re experiencing now to get an adequate base of snow,” said Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation director.

Winter Park consists of five snowtubing lanes with a Magic Carpet for transportation to the top of the hill, five skiing/snowboarding runs and a beginner-friendly skiing/snowboarding hill.

Winter Park welcomed more than 11,000 visitors who hailed from 20 states in just nine weeks from December 2017 to February 2018. For more information, rates and hours of operation, visit facebook.com/WinterParkKewauneeCounty.
