MAM Exhibit Celebrates Mike Judy and Schomer Lichtner

The Miller Art Museum, 107 S. 4th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, will unveil a new exhibition in its main galleries April 24. Mike + Schomer: Cows, Color and Camaraderie will celebrate the friendship of Mike Judy and Schomer Lichtner through their colorful and eccentric works. In place of an opening reception, a May 13 program at 6 pm will feature Judy talking with the museum’s curator of exhibitions, Helen del Guidice, on Facebook.

Permanent-collection works by Milwaukee artist Schomer Lichtner (1905-2006) will complement Judy’s work. Lichtner was a celebrated and prolific painter and printmaker who served as the official artist of the Milwaukee Ballet.

Featured on the Ruth Morton Miller Mezzanine will be new works by Door County artist Franne Dickinson, a display of works by the late longtime Ephraimite Karsten Topelmann, and newly framed works by Gerhard CF Miller’s mentor, Roy Mason, from the permanent collection. To learn more and review current safety rules, visit millerartmuseum.org.
