Certified viniyoga instructor and yoga therapist Mary Hilliker will lead a workshop about managing stress and anxiety through yoga.

Through six classes, participants will progressively explore a range of yoga postures, breathing patterns and practices, guided relaxation, and intentions to help set your stress and anxiety thermostat to safe, connected, calm and clear; and to discover which ones work best for each person.

Both beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome, and postures and breathing will be adapted to participants’ needs. Continuing-education credits are available for yoga teachers who want to learn more about targeted tools to help their students manage stress and anxiety.

The class will be held at Studio234, 234 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, on Mondays, 8:30-9:30 am, Aug. 15 – Sept. 26, with no class Sept. 5. The cost of the six-week package is $80; drop-ins are welcome based on availability for $20 per class. Equipment is provided, but participants may also supply their own yoga mat.

Teacher proceeds for this class will go to Heart to Heart International, a Kansas City–based non-for-profit that delivers medicine, medical supplies and humanitarian aid to people who are affected by the Ukraine crisis.
