Maple Grove Motel Open Under New Management

The Maple Grove Motel in Gills Rock has been updated and reopened under new management for 2020.

John Nolte has renovated the 1950s-era motel to retain the vintage ambience while making repairs and improvements, including refurbishing the original retro furniture, adding new Kohler fixtures, new beds, interesting décor (including rotary-dial telephones), Wi-Fi and high-definition Roku flatscreen TVs. Room 6 is the Music Room, with various stringed instruments on the wall for guests to try out and perhaps spark a new interest.

In the back, guests are welcome to meander through the maple tree forest, pick berries and tomatoes from the garden, relax in the chaise longue or hammock, stargaze in the dark sky or roast marshmallows at the campfire. Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 6 pm, guests can enjoy free, laidback acoustic song circles and concerts in a newly built outdoor pavilion.
