Maritime Museum and DC North Receive JEM Grants

Door County is kicking off summer with the help of two Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grants, presented by Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett. The Door County Maritime Museum will receive $20,000 to promote the opening of their new “Sea Dogs” exhibit, May 15 – Sept. 15. Door County North will receive $17,200 to promote their new event, Uncork Summer, June 27.

“We’re thrilled to support these two new events in Door County, one of Wisconsin’s iconic destinations,” said Klett. “Both of these events offer fantastic opportunities to explore the rich history and culinary gems of the peninsula, as well as, create positive economic impact in the area.”

JEM grant funds are available to nonprofit organizations for the promotion of Wisconsin tourism events and destinations. The state can fund up to 75 percent of a project’s first-year advertising and marketing costs, and provide support for second- and third-year projects with decreasing amounts for funding until projects become self-sustaining.
