Martin Park Bandshell Grand Opening Thursday

The Martin Park Bandshell on Sturgeon Bay’s 3rd Avenue will open in grand style Thursday and Friday with two free grand opening performances for all ages. The concerts feature Geri X and Victoria Vox, among others, as part of the opening night of Steel Bridge Songfest 2011.

The free shows have been made possible by the Sturgeon Bay Parks and Recreation Department, the Holiday Music Motel and Citizens For Our Bridge.

“I think it’s a neat idea to have Steel Bridge do the Grand Opening,” said Bob Bordeau, Parks and Recreation superintendent. “The festival has been going on for seven years, and it’s been pretty instrumental in not only preserving an historic part of our city, but also in just bringing people to Sturgeon Bay.”

The grand opening Thrusday starts at 6 pm.
