The Sturgeon Bay Masonic Lodge’s 86th annual Steamboat Dinner will be served March 13, 4-7 pm. Drive through or walk up to pick up carryout meals at the Masonic Center, 31 S. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay. There is no table service this year because of COVID-19 restrictions.
The meal will consist of roast beef, turkey, baked potato, coleslaw, baked beans, a vegetable, gravy, dinner roll and a slice of pie.
The dinner originated 86 years ago, when a large number of the Masonic brethren sailed on the Great Lakes, and their families wanted to have a special send-off meal together before they left for the season on steamboats. Today the dinner provides funds for the lodge’s community-outreach programs.Tickets are $16 per adult; those 14 and younger are free. Veterans and active-duty/reserve personnel receive a $1 discount.
