Master Gardeners Offer “A Breath of Spring” Floral Design Program

The Door County Master Gardeners will hold another continuing education program at Crossroads at Big Creek on March 15 at 7 pm. Bette Sternard of Maas Floral and Greenhouse will present “A Breath of Spring: Garden Designs Using Fresh Cut Flowers and Plants.” She will bring a bit of spring to the audience and will demonstrate creative arrangements using garden décor. Sternard will also discuss the elements of design and tips on using spring flowers from your garden in floral arrangements.

Sternard was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay. She graduated from Sevastopol High School and went on to attend Gateway Technical Institute in Kenosha and graduated with an Associate Degree in Horticulture Marketing. She then went on to attend the Chicago Floral Art School and graduated with a degree in Floral Design. She has been in the Floral Industry for 41 years. She currently works for Maas Floral and Greenhouse as Flower Shop Manager and Floral Designer.

The programs are free and open to the public. Crossroads at Big Creek is located at 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay. For more information visit dcmga.org.
