Masters Exhibit at the Gallery of the Door Count Art League

The Gallery of the Door County Art League will feature the work of Door County Master award winners during the 2010-2011 season.

Following 2009-2010 Master Margaret Lockwood’s May exhibit, 2010-2011 Master Emmett Johns will exhibit through the month of June.

In July, watercolorist Ed Fenendael (2008-2009 Master) of Morning Mist Studio at Windmill Farm will exhibit and Jeanne Svien-Aurelius and David Aurelius (2007-2008 Masters) of Clay Bay Pottery will exhibit in August. In September, Franne Dickinson (2006-2007 Master) of Toe Path Studio will show her post-impressionist work.

The Door County Masters Award was initiated in 1997 to honor the outstanding work of Door County artists and the contributions they have made to the art community. The medallion awarded to each winner was designed and manufactured by Hermke Timm.

The 2011 Door County Master Award will be conferred at a reception at the Miller Art Center of the Sturgeon Bay Library in November. The featured Door County Master will headline the “Deck the Halls with Art” show at the Miller Art Center.

The Gallery of the Door County Art League, located at Top of the Hill Shops, Highway 42 and County Road F, in Fish Creek, is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. For more information call 920.868.2288 or 920.559.7530 or visit http://www.doorcountyartleague.org.
